Niawanda Park / Niagara River Trail

Suggested Route Start:

Niawanda Park (200 Niagara St, Tonawanda, NY 14150)

Parking Location:

Niawanda Park (200 Niagara St, Tonawanda, NY 14150)

Distance:

8.6 kilometers

Description:

This path along the Niagara River starts at Niawanda Park and continues down the Empire State Trail towards the South Grand Island bridges. Along the way you will pass the Niawanda Park Pavilion and then snake through the denser Isle View Park. At the halfway point is the South Grand Island Bridges where you’ll be presented with an intriguing view of the Niagara River and Grand Island. At this point it is suggested that you turn around and head back towards Niawanda Park (and maybe stop for a treat at Mississippi Mudds!).

As this trail is the same going to and coming back, the distance can be changed to accomodate skill level and time. This trail can also be combined with the Tonawanda Rails to Trails Route to create a longer route.
